About this item:
- This backpack is made for multiple days hiking or trekking in autonomy. You can carry everything you need to camp, drink and eat on your back with comfort.
- The MT900 ULTRALIGHT only weighs 2.9 lbs and can contain a total volume of 45 liters which we recommend for a trip under 2 weeks long. The top of the bag is adjustable and can hold an extra 10 liters of volume.
- This backpack has plenty of features if you are looking for a lightweight technical option at a great price: AIR concept back ventilation, rain cover, water bottle holder, hiking poles holder, 7 pockets and a compartment for a water bladder for easy hydration.
- The AIR concept: in order for your back to dry faster, we added a mesh on top of a ventilated structure. Ideal for long and sweaty day hikes from one camp to another !
- This is a women's backpack: This bag has been conceived for a masculine morphology (torso and hips). We recommend to consider the users physical morphology when you choose a bag for comfort purposes when carrying it on your back.
- 10-year warranty: the fabric of the bag is ultra resistant and Decathlon is proud to offer this warranty for any defect that could appear in the next 10 years.

Product Customer Reviews
Bag purchased after a long process of searching for the ideal bag for light roaming hiking. I chose the women's model which seems to correspond better to my body shape, the bag sits well on my iliac crests unlike the men's model, which is too generous in volume anyway. Recently tested on a 10-day hike loaded with around 9kg at the start, the bag proved to be quite disappointing. Positive points: carrying comfort (very personal), pole straps (simple system but always as effective at decathlon), ergonomic belt pockets. Negative points: -The overly complex lateral compression system which we don't understand anything about, we end up with ropes that hang and can get dangerously attached to the environment. -the exterior pockets which don't really inspire confidence, the elastic doesn't work enough, we fear losing things. I might have preferred elastic mesh pockets, less sturdy for sure, but much more practical and breathable (for drying a hardshell, or your tent canvas during the day) The worst being the quick access system to the side pockets, the small fastener allows neither reliable closure nor comfortable access. On the 2 points mentioned above, this really falls under the prototype. - Support point at the level of the clavicles very uncomfortable in the long run, bones very sore after a few hours (maybe more adapted to the female body?) - In terms of general appearance, the bag lacks a little hold , apart from the unsightly, loaded side, it feels a bit like a potato sack on your back. - biggest disappointment: the bag tore on the 2nd day at the attachment point of a plastic loop on the main side creating a hole in the loading volume (bag loaded with less than 9kg that day !). Quite unacceptable for a bag at this price (we have no trouble finding competing high-end products at this price). I no longer have confidence in this bag for touring hiking, a sport requiring reliable equipment to ensure comfort and safety.
Lightweight, but not comfortable. Not enough padding in needed areas like hips, shoulders. It's nice, good pockets but I wouldn't repurchase this again. I carried 7-8 kgs, 6-8 hours per day, but I guess it could be comfortable for max 5.
I was looking for a light and inexpensive backpack for a multi-day trekking tour. I have already used it several times with +11 kg of luggage and I am really satisfied. At first I didn't find the arrangement of all the pockets and straps appealing, but after watching the explanatory video for all the functions several times, I'm thrilled by the diversity! Can only recommend the backpack.
This time my family climbed Jiaming Lake, which was practical and very satisfying.
light and durable product
A bit too high, and the pocket on the flap of the backpack is completely inconvenient
Did the job well on the GR20 independently
A wonderful backpack, light, great carrying system, I went on a week-long trekking in Nepal with it and it worked great, I didn't feel like I had a backpack on my back.
The backpack is lightweight and suitable for smaller girls. It is quite comfortable to carry a weight of 7 to 8 kilograms several times for hiking.
Very practical, lightweight, adapts very well to my 1.60 m height I love all its pockets I added two small straps on the top of the bag I can't wait to go on the GR with it
It's a very good, ultra-light bag that opens completely on the front with pockets on the side and the front but the 2 large side pockets are closed with a drawstring, be careful small objects can slip! However, it absolutely did not suit me, I was not able to use it once it was filled, because I am less than 150 cm tall and I was not able to adjust it correctly! I had my head in the bag with the roof pockets and by shortening it I was losing interior space! But very light and good material! I recommend it for people over 160 cm tall!
Because I wanted a lighter backpack for my walking holiday, I switched from a very nice, but 2.2 kg heavy, Osprey backpack to this backpack, more than 1 kg. lighter. I was hesitant to do this because of some critical reviews on this site. Osprey also has a light backpack: the Eja pro and I could compare it with this. For me, the front opening with a zipper and the much larger pockets on the hip belt were the deciding factor in choosing this Forclaz backpack. And I haven't regretted it. The wearing comfort has proven to be very good for me. And, after walking with it for over 3 weeks, I can say: it is a great backpack. Comfortable to wear when weighing 6 to 8 kg.
Used 3 weeks in Norway. Perfect both in terms of weight and storage.
Bag designed for a woman's body shape, however I am a man of 1.75 and 75kg with a thin waist and suits me better than the male model in terms of size and adjustment of the height of the bag Not super comfortable in terms of the frame at the level of the axes but you get used to it. On the other hand, the bag is really well thought out and modular and rather light (not ultra light)
I used this bag on a demanding 16-day trek. The bag was very comfortable, the pockets are easy to access and things are easy to store inside. There are plenty of strings that can be used, for example, to put out your laundry. So I recommend this bag++

Air design
Inspired by its sister, the MT500 AIR, this bag replicates many of the features of its ventilated back structure with a mesh fabric so that the back can breathe more and dry quickly.
Capacity
Volume of 45L with a +10L extension. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method. we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container in order to determine the equivalent volume in litres, with a margin of error of just a few %.
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.
How to use the multi-use straps?
The new MT500 AIR and MT900 UL series of trekking backpacks have two straps with open aluminium buckles (on the lower part of the bag). These straps let you hook on a tent or mattress under the bag or on the barrel. If not in use, these straps can be stored (by pushing them inside) in the hidden pocket intended for this or detached and used elsewhere with the lark's head knot buckle.

Recommended carry weight
According to the project for which this backpack was designed, we recommend you don’t load it above 12 kg. Then you can benefit from all its features. Moreover, it’s not recommended to carry a load greater than 20-25% of your own weight and put too much pressure on your back.
Female body shape
Our women's models are adapted to their body shape (chest and hips) with a more open shoulder strap shape and a higher fitted belt for greater comfort and freedom of movement.
Product testing
All our backpacks are field-tested by users who represent the target market in conditions identical to those found in typical use. In particular, our Test Missions bring together the product manager with people who are not affiliated with DECATHLON to test, improve and validate the products. This particular model was tested over a five-week period by trekkers in the Canaries, Pyrenees and the Mont-Blanc mountain range.
Storage instructions
Store your bag in a dry, ventilated place away from direct light.
